Connect and bond with local cat sitters who understand your challenges and joys, and who are there for moral support, a chat or a drink. Why not?
Get help from a pool of great colleagues with different experiences and expertise who share advice, ideas, wisdom and inspiration with you.
Network, job-share, back (yourself)-up, refer and be referred. There is plenty of work out there. We share the love.
Make it more likely to be found online with a dedicated local website linked directly to your own.
Get additional exposure through the community's website, social media and various events throughout the year.
Participate in or organise your own training events to share what you know and develop your skills, or find someone to attend events with you. We have the same interests, and it's way nicer than showing on your own!

Fill in the online form
We’ll need some information from you for our website (and you can request an edit at any time). We’ll ask a few general questions about your motivation for joining our collective and your commitment to excellent cat care, cat welfare, and ongoing training.
What can you bring to the table?
You don’t have to be the cat-sitting master of the universe — we all started somewhere, and we’re all still learning. What matters most to us is that you want to grow. We value colleagues who are eager to develop their skills, share knowledge, progress in their work, and strive for excellence in professional cat sitting.
We aim to showcase the very best to our clients — both feline and human — which means we carefully review every application.
You can find our step-by-step guide on how to apply here.
02
Come meet us
We want to know who we’re connecting with and feel confident recommending you to potential clients. Meeting face-to-face helps us make sure we share similar service standards, values around cat care, and expectations about professionalism.
Every three months, we host an informal Cat Sitters’ Café (you’ll find details of the next one here), along with other activities throughout the year. Come along!
And don’t worry if you feel a little awkward around other people — because we're awkward, we all work with cats 😉
We’re also friendly, and we rarely scratch.
04
Be the best cat sitter you can
Our aim is that, through each other’s support, help, and inspiration, we continue to grow as better carers, strengthen cat welfare, and raise the profile of our profession. We believe high-quality cat sitting should be the norm, not the exception.

Our Candidates
(Non-Members... but Well-underway!)
These sitters are on their way to becoming part of our trusted network of professional cat sitters. As we get to know one another, they work toward meeting our requirements — gaining experience, following training, developing their skills, and refining their businesses to provide excellent cat care and clear, complete information in their regions.
And while they grow, we grow too.
We genuinely want them to succeed and to be the very best at what they do. We guide, support, and encourage them along the way, and we look forward to officially welcoming them as Members of our professional community soon.

*Cat Sitters of Amsterdam functions solely as a connecting platform. All agreements, bookings, payments, and services are arranged directly between the client and the individual cat sitter. Each sitter is independently responsible for their own business operations, insurance, conduct, and contractual obligations.
You can also join Cat Sitters of Amsterdam – The Facebook Community.
Our free online group is open to professional cat sitters, hobby sitters, and anyone dreaming of starting their own cat-sitting business but unsure where to begin. It’s a welcoming space to ask questions, share knowledge, discover training opportunities, and exchange tips and stories about cat care and life as a cat sitter.
You don’t have to be based in Amsterdam to join — our community is open to cat sitters everywhere.
