How To Join
Cat Sitters of Amsterdam
(A Step-by-Step Guide) And Become A Great Member
So you're interested in joining Cat Sitters of Amsterdam? Great! Here's how it works:
1. Check the Basics
First things first—make sure you meet the basic requirements listed on our page: www.catsittersofamsterdam.com/forcatsitters. We're looking for people who love cats, are professional, willing to get involved, share and learn, and are respectful of people (and cats!).
2. Fill in the Application Form
If you agree with our values, please submit your application. This is where you introduce yourself and explain why you'd be a great addition to the group.
3. Initial Review
Once you have applied, your information will be shared with the current Members from Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands. If some of us have already met and feel comfortable with you, great! If there are any concerns, we'll discuss them as a group.
4. Become a Candidate
If all goes well, you'll be added to our WhatsApp group and website as a Candidate. If we all know and love you already, we might just jump straight to full membership!
5. The Candidate Period (6 months)
Think of this as your trial period—nothing scary, just a chance for us all to get to know each other. Here's what happens during these six months:
* You'll chat with members, participate in discussions, and maybe meet up for coffee now and again.
* You pay half the annual membership fee.
* We all get a feel for whether this is the right fit for everyone.
6. Full Membership Time!
After six months, if we all agree you're a good fit for the group, you'll officially become a Member! This means:
* You pay the other half of the membership fee (the full fee is renewed annually from your initial application date).
* You're officially part of the Cat Sitters of Amsterdam community!
* You will be listed as a member on our website and our locator map.
7. Being a Good Community Member
We're all here because we love what we do and want to create a positive and supportive environment. Here's what we expect:
* Be professional and always strive to improve.
* Be kind and considerate - to clients, cats and each other.
* Be honest and open, but also courteous. Some conversations within the group may be personal or sensitive—please respect everyone's privacy and do not share information outside the group without consent.
* If you make a mistake (we all do!), own it and apologise if necessary.
* Embrace diversity and take the time to listen to others—everyone has something valuable to bring to the table.
8. Got Concerns? Speak up!
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to share them with the group or through another trusted Member. We want everyone to feel comfortable, safe and included.
And that's it! If this all sounds good, we'd love to hear from you. Welcome (potentially) to Cat Sitters of Amsterdam!
Please note: Cat Sitters of Amsterdam reserves the right to accept and retain members. If it turns out that someone isn't a good fit, or if a serious problem arises, the group may decide to revoke membership at any time. Membership fees are non-refundable.
